Hacklab 2018 is scheduled to take place at the College of Science, KNUST, Kumasi from the 6th April to 8th April. This year’s event promises a unique and unforgettable experience with 12 participating tertiary institutions and over 250 participants.

 The Hackathon Challenge

This year’s hackathon challenge will task teams to identify a local problem in the transport system, energy supply, use and conservation, healthcare delivery, education, agriculture or financial service sector in Ghana, design a scalable and commercial solution to address this problem leveraging on modern technologies like IoT, Blockchain, artificial intelligence, web 3.0, etc.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Registration & Teaming
  • All participants must fill out the Participant Registration Form to be eligible for participation.
  • Development of the idea and research for the hackathon project entry may start prior to the event, but progress and improvement of the final deliverable must be shown by the team over the period of the event. Teams not following this rule will receive a zero score for any applicable categories of judging related to the deliverable developed ahead of event kickoff.
  • Teams must be between 2-4 team members. Teams have to be formed in advance of the event.
  • Third party frameworks and libraries may be used, but must be declared in the technical prototype demonstration. A score penalty may be incurred for failure to declare as stated in Judging section.

Participants have until 23:00 GMT on Friday, March 30th, 2018 to register and join a team.
