On 13th July 2018, during Seedstars Accra, Cowtribe Technology won the Ghana round of Seedstars World and will represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland to compete for up to USD 1 million in equity investment and other prizes.

Seedstars World, the largest seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, brought its Ghana round to a successful close during Seedstars Accra. The event took place last Friday, at University of Professional Studies, and 10 selected startups were invited to present their companies in front of the local jury panel.

The local winner, Cowtribe Technology, Africa’s first last mile animal vaccine delivery platform. Founded in 2016 to deliver safe vaccines to farmers in hard to reach areas, was named “Best Startup in Ghana for its innovative sustainable solution.

As a part of the prize, Cowtribe Technology will be participating at the Seedstars Summit, which takes place in Switzerland, in April 2019. It is a weeklong training program, with the opportunity to meet the 65+ winners from other fast growing economies, as well as investors and mentors from around the world. The final day of the Summit is dedicated to pitching in front of an audience of more than 1000 attendees, with the possibility of winning up to USD 1 million in equity investment and other prizes.

The 10 startups pitched in front of a prestigious jury, including Patrick Quantson of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Kelechi Victor Ofoegbu of Impact Hub, Victor Asemota of Swifta Corporation, Nnennia Ejebe of Adenia Partners, Leticia Browne of Intelligent Capital Group and Fanny Dauchez of Seedstars Africa.

Seedstars Accra also featured Patrick Quantson, of Stanbic Bank Ghana, who welcomed guests to the event and Francis Obirikorang of Agrocenta who won the global competition and told the startups about his journey with Seedstars so far. Further support was provided by Business Incubator Center, University of Professional Studies Accra, Stars from all Nations, MEST, Ninety3 Studios, and media partners, Disrupt Africa, and TechToday. The event attracted interest from over 178 startups, and around 150 attendees.

RedBird Health Tech, who partners with pharmacies to create a network of convenient health monitoring points using rapid diagnostic test technology., came second and AgroInnova who helps poultry farms manage their businesses effectively and have access to an on-demand guaranteed market of wholesalers and retailers . grabbed the last spot in the top 3. Jaarno Limited : a foodstuff marketing and distribution business.we source foodstuff from farms and markets and resell through digital platforms
BloomImpact : A digital marketplace empowering underserved, African small businesses by providing convenient, affordable access to financial services.
Codeln : Codeln is a testing platform that verifies the coding skills of programmers enabling companies to recruit the best saving time,cost and risk
KudiGo Inc : KudiGo is redefining retail business in Africa by empowering the informal sector & micro-smes with oversight & financial inclusion tools.
